This computer was delivered last Saturday (March 22, 2025), and when I bought Battlefield 5 on sale on Steam and ran the game, the screen froze and after waiting for a while, it shuts down (reboots). Other games (PUBG) on Steam work fine, but when I run an EA Sports game purchased on Steam, I have the same problem as above.
Even after formatting, the symptoms were the same, and when I replaced the SSD with a different model (phison chipset), the game ran normally, and when I connected the customer's SSD (HP) to my test computer, the same symptoms occurred, so I thought it was a compatibility issue between the customer's SSD and the game company, but the customer's computer also had a different model SSD (NVMe) P41 1TB, SN850X 1TB, Samsung 980 500GB, (SATA SSD) Samsung 870 EVO 250GB => All had the same symptoms = the problem of stopping and rebooting occurred.
Rather, if the test SSD (phison chipset) also had the same problem, we could have found the cause a little faster and not misdiagnosed it as an SSD compatibility issue. However, I was even more confused when I changed to the test SSD and the game ran normally. If the game runs on some SSD models and not others, I don't think we can say that there are no SSD and game compatibility issues. I think the game maker should release a patch.
I tried everything from Windows 10 22H2, Windows 11 23H2, 24H2, changing the graphics card driver, disabling the built-in graphics, arbitrarily changing the graphics card and M.2 SSD socket gen version, to changing the speed settings. I did basic cross-testing of parts, and changed all the parts. (The one that happened to be caught was the SSD of the Python chipset, and the real cause is with the game developer.)
Recently, Battlefield 5 has this kind of deadlock problem. There are a couple of people in Korea who are experiencing inconvenience due to this problem.
Since there are many more people who are uncomfortable but do not write, it seems that there are more people who are experiencing difficulties due to the same problem.
There are also some users who are experiencing inconvenience due to the same problem in overseas communities (reddit, EA sports).
Maybe because AMD CPUs are selling well,
I see a lot of AMD CPU (AM5 socket) + RTX 4070 users. (AMD graphics are also available)
Computer specifications are trendy, so I don't know if the user's computer specifications are related to this error.
I think Steam or EA Sports game company should announce a solution to this error.
